The concept of midwifery is a constructed human idea, but it comes to the world in another format for the October Reds collection as the midwives of the afterlife. We live in a reality there, where darkness and grey are normal. These shapeless figures help souls into their next life, as midwives help souls into this one. A baby doesn't fear a midwife and we don't fear these figures either. We accept this period as a part of nature, a pattern that existed before we arrived here. We have nothing to fear as nature is the guide.

These figures bear clear resemblance to what we would historically call witches. As we know today, 'witches' and 'witch-hunting' was simply a war on women who held knowledge that others could not comprehend. A particular type of war raged on the female gender. Numerous books about the true purpose behind these attacks on women exist and if you want personal recommendations, please reach out.

October Reds is about the balance of nature and not having fear of the unknown. In our current reality many religious people can refer to the idea of angels guiding them or meeting them at the afterlife.

The complete 'Reimagined' concept is a simple expression of freedom. While adhering to the universal rules of nature, the human element is variable and we can create any reality we so desire. It is a measurement of distance from the individual viewer's own life experiences that would determine how easy it is to travel in the imagination.
We choose our world and we can decide what is playful, wistful, possible.
The images created for Eras Reimagined are playful games of imagination. How deeply detailed can we go? How specific can we stay when we stray far away from the current shared experience?
